A small wayside church, five kilometres to the west of the Monastery of St Simeon. This is one of the most perfectly preserved Byzantine churches in Syria. It lacks only a roof and internal fittings to be complete. It was not located in an inhabited area and probably served as a chapel for pilgrims on their way to the shrine complex of St Simeon.
كنيسة صغيرة على جانب الطريق، على بعد 5 كم إلى الغرب من دير القديس سمعان. وتعتبر الكنيسة البيزنطية الأكثر كمالاً وحفظاً في سورية، ولا ينقصها سوى السقف والتجهيزات الداخلية.
لم تكن هذه الكنيسة واقعة ضمن منطقة سكنية مأهولة، وعلى الأغلب بنيت ككنيسة صغيرة على طريق الحج إلى مجمع ضريح ودير القديس سمعان.
