This small Roman temple dates from the early phase of the Roman occupation of Syria but was rebuilt in the late second century AD. Dedicated to a local manifestation of Zeus, it stood within an enclosure and backed onto a small lake. Mushennef lies on the eastern flanks of the Jebel Hauran.

يعود بناء هذا المعبد إلى بدايات الاحتلال الروماني لسورية (النصف الثاني من القرن الأول قبل الميلاد)، وقد أعيد بناؤه ثانية في أواخر القرن الثاني الميلادي، وقد خصص لعبادة إله محلي يعتبر من تجليات الإله زيوس.
يقع المعبد ضمن سور، وخلفه بركة مياه صغيرة، ضمن قرية المشنف الواقعة على السفوح الشرقية لجبل حوران (محافظة السويداء) ويمكن العودة لوصف تفصيلي للموقع في كتاب أوابد سورية ص 205.
